Comment from Frommers
"A very nice, more reasonably priced alternative to Cusco's top two luxury hotels, Picoaga also occupies a historic building -- in this case a 17th-century mansion that once belonged to a Spanish nobleman, the marquis of Picoaga. Just minutes from the Plaza de Armas, the hotel is set around a lovely arcaded courtyard -- or, at least, one portion of it is. A newer wing is in a dated and much less appealing modern section at the rear of the hotel." |

Welcome to the Picoaga Hotel, the most centrally located in Cusco! We are a few steps away from the “Plaza de Armas,” the main square, and because we are in the monumental area, within a short walk, you can admire the ancient splendor of the archaeological capital of America.

The Picoaga Hotel, originally the old mansion of the Spanish nobleman, the Marquis of Picoaga, has now been converted into a comfortable lodging with private bath in each of the 70 rooms; intimate and public areas beautifully decorated in colonial style, framed by fine stone archways on two levels; beautiful columns; capitals and Spanish patio, complete an authentic sample of 17th Century architecture. |
